Dr Mike Fitzpatrick: Freshwater Solutions was very pleased that Dr Mike Fitzpatrick, a water quality specialist, joined Freshwater Solutions as an associate in early 2011. Richard and Mike have worked together extensively in the past and their professional backgrounds and areas of speciality compliment one another. Mike has considerable mining sector, industrial discharge, ecotoxicity and sediment chemistry experience.

Second Birthday: Freshwater Solutions is nearly 2 years old! Over the last 2 years Freshwater Solutions has established itself as a provider of high quality and cost effective freshwater consulting services. Freshwater Solutions is currently providing a range of technical freshwater services to large and small private sector companies, regional territorial authorities and engineering and planning consulting firms. We are looking forward to extending these relationships over the next 12 months.

Wetland Restoration: Freshwater Solutions is pleased to be involved in the restoration of a wetland on a property west of Tauranga. The restoration is increasing biodiversity and improving water quality as well as sequestering carbon. The restoration project is providing an opportunity for Richard Montgomerie to get some ‘hands on’ wetland restoration experience. The planting of the wetland has been completed and the plants are now well established. The key tasks over the next 12 months are weed control and releasing of plants.
